Users can enrol using Bluetooth on the Alto, Vine and Navyn devices. Please talk to your Account Manager if you wish to have this permission enabled for you.
There are multiple ways of enrolling using Bluetooth:

- During Enrol On Device (if you choose Enrol Later)
Important Note: The Bluetooth feature works only with Chromium browsers: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
1. Patient and Procedure Enrolment
- Proceed with the enrolment as per normal all the way up to Procedure Details. When [Save] button is clicked, a new button [Bluetooth enrol] is available.
- Refer sections 3 onwards.
2. Enrol on Device (if you choose Enrol Later)
Users can also enrol the patient through the Worklist by clicking on the [Enrol] button.
- Click [Enrol] in the Worklist and select [Bluetooth Enrol] in the popup prompt.
3. Connect to a Device
- When Bluetooth enrol is clicked, BeatBox will have a Bluetooth prompt to request the user that they will need to pair their holter device to their laptop for it to be connected (this needs to be done once per user, per device on a machine).
Quick Tip: Double Tap your Holter device to ensure that it’s turned on and in pairing mode before clicking the Connect button to allow your browser to search for the device faster.
- Click [Connect] and the browser will have a pop up and ask which device you want to pair with.
- There is a 4-character device ID label attached to the back of the device
- The Bluetooth device name when pairing will appear as “lt_<device ID>_”.
In the example screenshot below, it shows “lt_A459_”.
- Select the device that you wish to attach your enrolment to and click “Pair”.
- For a device that it is being paired for the first time, after selecting [Pair], the browser will prompt the user to enter the passkey as shown on the screen.
- Click [OK]
- When paired, BeatBox will prompt the user on two ways to enrol patient onto the device.
- Setup on Patient
- Select when the device is already connected onto the patient.
- Initialise device
- Select when enrolling a Holter without connecting to USB.
- Setup on Patient
4. Setup on Patient
- If [Setup on Patient] is selected, BeatBox will show a Holter monitor screen to provide heart rate information to the user.
- BeatBox will display the Patient Details and the device details on the status, heart rate, if leads are connected and real-time battery level and hours remaining for the recording.
- Once everything looks good, user can click [Enrol and start recording] to begin recording.
Important Note: The recording will start as soon as the user clicks the [Enrol and start recording] and the procedure will start in real time. Even if the hook up time was created, this will take precedence.
5. Initialise Device
- If [Initialise device] is selected, it will go through the current enrolment process, difference is that you are not plugged in to USB when enrolling.
6. Enrolment Complete
- Once enrolment is complete, a successful message is displayed.
7. Troubleshooting
Message Prompts – Lead not Connected
- If Setup on patient is selected but the leads are not connected, BeatBox will display a screen like the following:
- Note the Lead contact status is “Disconnected” and the trace signal is a square wave.
- If you attempt to continue by clicking Enrol and start recording, the following prompt to ask the user if they wish to proceed.
Message Prompts – Error Messages
- An error message will be displayed if a wrong device type had been selected.
- A timeout on enrolment if the browser has not been connected for a certain amount of time.
Device cannot be identified
If the device cannot be identified, e.g it could be when the sticker is not on the device or the device might be running the old config file. So the advertised name is different.
Easiest way to identify it is by using the accelerometer to see if you are connected to the same device that in your hand. you can shake it and see movement.
Device is not showing on pairing pop up screen
This could be because the device is running Bluetooth classic or old firmware.
- Best to do at least one enrolment via USB/dock so BeatBox can apply the new settings file and then try again.
- Or the device might need a firmware upgrade first.
How do I stop recording?
- To stop the recording, simply dock the device back to the connected USB.
8. Bluetooth Diagnostics
- BeatBox has a view only diagnostic feature to see the status of the device.
- In the BeatBox menu, under Tools → Bluetooth device
- BeatBox will direct the user to a Bluetooth Device monitor screen.
- Click the [Connect] button on the top left corner of the screen and follow the same pairing process as enrolment.
- When paired, the screen will be loaded with monitoring information of the device.
- Click [Start Live] to begin monitoring the live ECG view of the connected device.
